Anyone who broke out of a longterm relationship: does it actually get better? Currently debating leaving my relationship of 3 years and I’m just scared to confront a lot of the recovery that comes with it 😕

Yes! My last relationship was my most serious at that point. First partner I lived with, we were talking about our future and everything. Almost got engaged. He cheated, we broke up, I decided to hookup with a guy I always thought was cute since I’d met him some years before. Immediately caught feelings and 6 years together later I’m the happiest I’ve ever been!

It does get better. I was in a relationship for 5 years. It was a weird first couple of months navigating being single again but after a year I now see how much heartache and nonsense I saved myself from. If your guts telling you it’s the right choice, it most likely is. Rip the bandaid off

For me what helped is imagining myself single before I actually left. Romanticize the independence, prioritize friends and self case
