It's almost like rape is a Bad Thing and shouldn't be glorified in any way bc the dehumanization of and theft of control over women's bodies is a serious and dangerous problem that is very much alive and well

Dressing up as Nikki in the beginning of the movie is totally fine IMO! It’s more of couple costumes where they dress as bear and Nikki which is literally dressing up as a rapist and their victim.

How do you not think Bear was a rapist???? That was the entire point behind the movie. Bear slept with Nikki after knowing that it wasn’t Nikki in control. I fear you might have missed the entire fucking point of the movie. Yikes

I don’t agree with the sentiment since such a large (living) population has been SA’d/SH’d and wouldn’t enjoy seeing a rapist costume, fictional or otherwise… many people have been in analogous situations to Nikki, and Bear is MADE to be like many existing men 💀

What part of me pointing out that going as a couples costume where the characters are a rapists and victim mean I’m not giving attention to actual victims? Movies are meant to tell a story and many are meant to shine light on real world problems. Obession was meant to show the horror behind taking someone’s free will.
