Yeah I think it should be normalized to be in the military and not agree with political things going on

people join for a bunch of reasons and my reasons are extremely personal to me:) i would rather not serve under who i am serving under but then again we serve for the flag and the constitution not for the president if that makes sense

I just have way different politics and it’s not about the president at all but rather the country you’re serving for itself (incl the constitution) for me but agree to disagree

That might be what you serve for to yourself, but look at what you’re actually doing, what do you think it is that you’re serving?

so by all our training and what is specifically in our contracts and oath we serve under the flag and constitution not the president we all serve for those reasons:) about 7/10 of us are democrats and have been in before trump took office unfortunately if we break our contract we go to jail i reenlisted so im here until 2029 and will probably reenlist again under a better president

its not normalized because we are not allowed to speak on it we have to sign paperwork stating that

I mean the president and congress also swear under the flag and constitution, do you think that’s what they’ve been serving? It’s not about whether you’re a republican or democrat, it’s about what you’re being ordered to do and take part in and whether that represents the ideals that the flag and constitution were supposed to stand for

trust me ik, but its 4 years out of my career that i can handle, in no way have they been serving what the flag and constitution stands for but theres a reason biden told us to remember it theres a lot unfortunately civilians wont grasp or understand or know truly unless they put the boots on themselves (not meant to be rude)

That assumes this is just four years.. just as long as you remember that the oaths we’ve sworn are not to follow the orders given to us, but to “protect the constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic”

of course we remember it we say it more than u guys think we do, it gets said weekly in our safety briefings where im stationed i promise u no one in the military is not gonna uphold thay

I think your assumption that “no one in the military” would uphold that makes a lot of assumptions on most of the people in the military being like you
