Am I wrong for not wanting to go to a brunch at a zoo for children like an hour away — I missed my friends Halloween party and I haven’t found anything that works but he sent me that, I want smth Halloween related. But like?? Not that?? I meant like a bar

Did you have to register in advance for brunch? Cause if not I’d just ask to change activities. I wouldn’t be offended if I were the friend and you asked to do something more adult/halloween

I get not wanting to go because it’s not your idea of a Halloween event, but I do want to say zoo events tend to be for all ages barring age restrictions (like alcohol related events). I’ve gone to the trick or treating event at my local zoo several times even though it’s meant for kids and had a BLAST.

Yea the description feels pretty much geared at kids. Just a zoo, my guess is piss poor zoo ‘brunch’ foods, “spooky tunes and photo ops”, and fave painting. I am NOT wasting my money that bs. The zoo itself is genuinely expensive I’m not doing $50 for this. Idk what to say/how to say fuck no. I get he’s busy A LOT like 72hr shifts. But like I wanna get blasted in a costume

It’s this Saturday, $50 per adult (wtf????) and it’s an hour away. Our gas is $5. Idk how to say absolutely fuck no. Any event that promotes children in the photo op and face painting has always been an instant no-go from me. That means children, everywhere

I really would tell the friend. If I were him I’d rather know than waste my money on an activity you won’t enjoy. Could you blame the price? He’d be an asshole to make you pay for something you say you can’t afford rn

Honestly it’s the $50 price tag for me. My zoo’s event is only $15 and you get the bonus of the nocturnal animals being more active as it’s after normal hours. $50 for a kid-oriented event during normal operating hours does not sound fun

can you just say that? like “oh thank you sm for invite but i was thinking more going out to a bar”. if they’re your friends they’ll understand!

I’d absolutely blame the price on this one, with a side of “I just don’t see anything that isn’t aimed at kids so I don’t know if there’s anything for us”

Also with a dash of “maybe we could hit the bars instead?”
