decided to do a controlled “cheat day” because i felt like my body needed it but instead i ended up binging on thousands… like, thousands…of calories. i literally ate half a box of cereal plus so so much other food…hoping it doesn’t affect my wl journey:(

genuinely this is one day out of a future hundreds if not thousands. if you’ve been eating in a deficit up until this point, at most it’ll be a nudge up by a fraction of a pound. if you get back on the wagon tomorrow and pick up where you left off, this absolutely will NOT affect you or your progress at all

Sometimes that “shock” to the system can actually be beneficial, too.

I feel guilty about eating a pizza slice. I get it.

thank you so much for your comment!! I guess the only thing making me nervous is that this is not the first time this has happened… i would say it’s close to every 10 days or so. I’m in a deficit outside of that though so i know it probably won’t make me *gain* weight per se (unless it will…idk) but i feel like it’s gonna hinder the weight loss :/

i promise w time it’ll get easier. you won’g think about it as much. when i started losing weight by tracking what i ate, the weekends would more or less turn into a free for all. but it’s been months and those moments are sooo infrequent i don’t even worry now when they do happen. i try to remind myself it takes eating an excess of 3,500 calories to gain ONE pound. don’t beat yourself up over any of it, that’s the best thing you could do for yourself
