Influencer who went out for a girls night for the 1st time since her newborn was born. Within 20 mins of her being gone, her 3yo son tripped into the pool. While husband was taking care of newborn & watching the playoffs inside. He knew he was outside playing alone. He was unsupervised for more than 10 mins, tried to swim out for 2 mins and was in the pool for another 7 mins before husband noticed the dog was staring at the pool. That’s when he discovered his son at the bottom of the pool
He didn’t make it and the husband initially lied about the length of time he lost track of his toddler and had initially said he was inside on a chair facing the window to outside. When he was on the couch facing the tv. He also placed a bet on that game which is why he was so fixated on the tv vs his toddler son playing alone outside next to an ungated pool
Who the hell thinks “I’ll just watch him through the window” is a viable strategy when there’s an ungated pool outside? Also, don’t get me wrong I think this is a terrible option too, but why couldn’t he just watch the game on his phone OUTSIDE so that he could at least hear the splash?
You know what makes this more sad? I was dog sitting at a home with a pool and I was checking some stuff on my phone while the dogs wandered the yard nearby. One of them fell into the pool and the first I did was put my phone down and ran over to where he fell in. Luckily he knows how to swim and just needed help getting up the latter and toweled off while I texted the owner what happened. I had more care and concern for that dog in that moment than this father had for his son.
She’s apparently gone mute from all this. Won’t talk to friends or family. Can’t imagine what she’s going thru and how their marriage will survive. Ppl were initially blaming her for having an unfenced pool but I’ve gotta say I’m from the same area as her & I dogsit. Almost all of my clients have pools & almost none of them are gated. I think ppl misinterpret the law. I think a gate is only required around the whole backyard. Regardless it should have been gated or netted w a toddler & newborn
Yeah both dogs are able to swim and the one that went in only did because his paw slipped on the edge (he likes to walk right on the edge of the pool a lot). Yeah the pool should have been gated but the real blame needs to go to the father in this case. She clearly had more trust in him than this.
