here are some groceries you can get if you’re feeling the pressure from SNAP being cut: rice, dried seaweed, mayo, cornmeal or grits, spam (or alt), frozen vegetables, pasta, CANNED tomato sauce, bagged salmon (not canned), peanut butter, oatmeal, bread

Dried seaweed is good for feeling full because it expands so much

also powder broths/ bullions or like pastes!!!! i got a thing of miso paste at an asian market near me and it’s lasted me over 2 months (i still have some and i make soup almost everyday). soups can be your best friend, you can add rice or noodles to make it more filling and you can basically put anything you can get your hands on in a soup. there’s so much variety so you won’t get bored of eating the same thing all the time while staying full!!

absolutely. if you can afford eggs, eggs are great for topping grits or for fried rice with spam. if you can afford canned tuna, tuna casserole is easy and cheap and can serve a lot of people. if you like to bake, bread can be made with just flour, sugar, salt, oil, and yeast and is good for things like toast or alongside dinner. my go to dinners (broke college student with grocery budget of $25) are salmon with rice and seaweed, instant mashed potatoes with eggs, or fridge raid soup

ALDIs is much cheaper, sometimes food lion is cheap, grocery outlets in your area might be cheap. i try to avoid walmart (big corporation) and dollar general (added ingredients and getting more expensive), but if that’s all you can afford, make sure you check the ingredients to keep them simple. canned products almost always have fewer artificial ingredients than food in bags or plastic packaging bc they need less preservatives to be shelf stable
