literally i wasn’t celebrating america i was celebrating a nice weather day with a grill out and alcohol with friends. for a lot of people it’s one of the few days off they get so why not go out and enjoy yourself since they are actively taking away joy? trump is probably going to take away holidays anyway so.

Fully agree, plus it’s just the vibe of the holiday. I have Jewish friends who celebrate Christmas with Santa and Christmas trees because fuck it, life is short, why not celebrate a holiday for the hell of it? Everything’s become so commercialized that none of them have any real meaning anymore unless you decide to purposefully include it

As someone from the south, THIS!! Uneducated people arent the enemy!! It’s the system that intentionally keeps people uneducated thats the enemy!! Like, fuck a Trump supporter but at the same time I can recognize that they deserve rights and are oftentimes a product of their environment, primarily the fact that neither they nor anyone in their community has ever received quality education
