Flip it upside down and use a blow dryer to see if you can get the wax to drip out. Idk if you can take the keyboard keys off but see if that’s possible

This is gonna sound so rude but maybe she should’ve been watching her son more closely then. As you said you’re a college student in two months you’re gonna need that laptop again. Maybe you could do monthly installments to pay it off but if you do that I feel like you should ask her for the money back once she gets a job bc that’s irresponsible as fuck.
