hi i want to offer a different perspective as someone who did sit thru that entire conversation and not just the one viral clip!! when er made those comments it was in the context of TERFS using trans panic as a way to exclude trans women from the sphere of womanhood. the comment about sa, without context, is entirely out of left field and not needed at all!! but the entire message that was being conveyed was that trans women are not men dressing up in costumes trying to hunt women
how are you gonna put trans women on this like weird pedestal and then turn around and say some transphobic shit that erases the very prevalent problem of trans women being sexually assaulted. reminds me a lot of the whole “divine femininity” thing that pretends to be very pro woman while still spreading misogynistic ideas about how women are naturally emotional and nurturing and it’s just in our soul or some shit
I agree. I’d go as far to argue that our ability to be sexually assaulted is part of us understanding womanhood. It’s a hard hollowing fact of women’s existence on this planet. The statistics of the sexual violence against women are staggering. Globally about 1/3 women are sexually assaulted in their lifetime. There are over 230 million women alive today that have undergone genitalia mutilation. 2020-24 had 1.1 million victims of domestic violence (US) w/ nearly 75% of the victims being female.
I guess I just see SA as something we as women are just expected to figure out or dare I say even tolerate because of how normalized violence against us is. Growing up in a world that sees us as objects, baby makers, a sex hole leaves a pretty deep impression. It’s everywhere, what we eat, wear, where we avoid, it’s the men who yell vulgar things as we pass, it’s the warnings older women give us. It’s the way we learn to be smaller, quieter, prettier, and more agreeable.
No, this whole smear campaign was started by a conservative that took a year old podcast clip out of context to target the trans community. Drew afaulo and er fightmaster were being trans inclusive and tried to talk about trans women in a positive light and all the cis women took it as a personal attack
😬😬😬😬. Yeah too far. I disagree with what they said but trans women are still women. Sure they experience a different womanhood than us but I experience a different one than you so why tf does it matter. No one experiences the same womanhood. You can disagree with the take and not be a terf
down like animals. they’re people who go through an entirely different journey of womanhood and on that journey, given they are in a safe environment, they are not overly or entirely concerned about doing or going through to oppression that was suddenly being mass reported on like womens bathrooms and sports. they did not mean more beautiful as a quantitative statement when comparing the two experiences of womanhood that trans and cis women experience, just highlighting the beauty of trans women
