“The Sydney Sweeney jeans ad is just a coincidence, yall are too woke” i need people to understand that commercials like that go thru loads of approval, boards, managers, etc… they knew the backlash and still chose that message. There is no mistakes
Agreed on the eugenics front but I’m curious what you think of this other part
Someone on here claimed that her initials being SS and featuring a German shepherd were nazi symbols

Did you see Dunkin ad too? I guess they saw the jump in sales for American eagle and hopped on the “genetics” boat LOLL (the ad is so corny, it’s on their socials)

literally who cares. the ad is obviously about her being pretty and having nice boobs, not whatever political issue you happen to be irrationally upset about

sydney sweeney does have good genes and it’s okay to admit that. people of any race can

I’d never have clocked the dog bcos that’s lowkey a super obscure reference in my mind, which could have been an accident but based on the rest of the nonsense totally could’ve been intentional. Getting mad at somebody’s initials is batshit crazy tho 🙂↕️

Like I mentioned above ^ the issue isn’t having good genes, it’s about specifically saying that blue eyes are good genes. If they’d released the rest of the ad campaign without that one, there would be no issue

It’s corny but most of their ads are corny lol, I think it’s def a reach to imply that it’s also pro-eugenics 😭 being tan certainly doesn’t have the same historical context in that area as having blue eyes

Aside from the eugenics reference the ad is a reference to an ad Brook Shields did when she was 15. A literal child being sexualized.

they never said that. they just had her say “my jeans are blue”

She’s saying that genes determine things like eye color and then says “my genes (jeans) are blue”. It’s very obviously about her eyes. There’s almost no denim in the shot when she says that line, actually.
