She deleted the post so I’m going to make my own: DUI/DWI is not a mistake. It’s a choice to put other ppls lives in danger.

Especially with how easily accessible rideshare apps are, and how many will offer free / reduced cost rides so you don’t drive impaired, literally no excuse!!

As a child of an alcoholic. He definitely knew… we didn’t when we were just kids and he drove us places!

It’s definitely a choice. Between putting the keys down and getting a ride home vs driving your drunk ass home, it’s a choice. It’s always a choice, you make that decision.

It’s definitely not a good choice or decision but people make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. Ubers are expensive and everybody I know who drives to bars do so because they can’t afford it. Not an excuse but you never know everyone’s life. And if someone does it we can just hope they will never do it again

i get that ubers are expensive but if they can’t afford it then they can find a buddy to have as a designated driver or drink at home…there are alternatives and it’s on them to take those measures. one persons mistake and poor planning shouldn’t be another persons death

Tbh if you can’t afford an uber you cannot afford to be going out and getting drunks enough that you can’t drive home. I said what I said. Alcohol is expensive so 1-2 drinks with dinner and driving safely is probably the same price as getting trashed and risking your own lives and others.

Also you can literally just lay down in the back seat and nap for a little bit until you’re not drunk??? Way better to drive home at like 4 am after a nap and some water (bonus points for snacks) than drunk at 1 or 2 am. And you can just keep a water bottle and some snacks in your car too. Fuck it set your alarm for 6 am and drive home later. I have a fast metabolism so idk how long other people take to sober up but carbs and water and an hour or two nap would definitely sober me up.

Or you can just walk home.. or to a bus or a hotel.. or something.. Don’t risk someone or your life because you’re broke.. also maybe not waist money on alcohol if you can’t get home…
