I’d say if ur in public order 2-3 rolls for the first round and then more if ur hungry. That way u can eat the amount u want but u can have the server take away empty plates as u go so u won’t feel embarrassed, and u can eat intuitively and listen to ur body. When ur on ur last roll on the table, decide whether ur hungry enough to eat more and then if u want to u can order more before u finish the roll. Life hack bc u won’t have to wait without food too

For reference, a friend and I ate sushi together like last week, we each had 2-3 rolls, soup, 2 glasses of tea, & shared an appetizer before we called it quits. Restaurants are just organized buffets bbg 🫶

It’s also super dependent on the kind of roll. like, 3 12 piece large specialty rolls? you might be judged bc that’s what my 270 lb man eats when he’s bulking for competition. 3 hand rolls or basic rolls? wayyy different
