not true for me, they tear around the same time. sometimes the burlington clothing tears sooner. literally i tried to take the tag off a burlington shirt bc it was uncomfortable, and it ripped! never had that issue with shein clothing. if i had the money and options to shop at other places i would. but i cant afford to buy $20 shirts. i’m a college student with no job, my parents don’t make that much money but they dont want me to have loans so majority of their money is going to college
all branded companies are bad, shein is worse given that it’s selling point is overconsumption of nearly-single use products poorly made. Not just clothes but an assortment of accessories. At least for the brands you’ve listed they’ve shown to last far longer than anything on shein.
Yeah and most of the time it’s XXL tops and when I’m a size small that just isn’t gonna work for me. Also even if they have your size, clearance sections are still usually not as affordable as fast fashion. Sorry if ur XXL and the clearance works for u… for me personally it doesn’t
Those aren’t my size either so yeah once again that wouldn’t work for me. Like I said, clearance only has two extremes. Typically XXL or in some cases XXS which both are not my size! So once again, in my personal experience I rarely find clothes that fit MY SIZE in the clearance!!
Metals such as lead (which the shein clothes tested positive for) are absorbed by the body. If the body absorbs an unhealthy amount it’ll lead to temporary to long term problems which include debilitating joint issues, emotional problems (mood disorders), and reproductive harm to name a few.
LMFAO @ that. baby, if you’ve shopped at target, you got lead in your clothes. if you’ve shopped at VS, you got lead in your clothes. if you’ve shopped at Pac Sun, you got lead in your clothes. if you’ve shopped at Nordstrom, you got lead in your clothes. if you’ve shopped at Macy’s, you got lead in your clothes.
there are other ways you can get clothes babygirl, it doesn’t have to be through an unregulated Chinese sweatshop app. American companies will likely have chemical traces, but at such a low level that the risk is minimal and compliant with regulations. Chinese companies dont inherently stick to those regulations (for glaringly obvious reasons) which is why people are very vocal against purchasing from Shein (along with the low prices that scream unpaid child labor and wasteful overconsumption).
I mean yes but it’s significantly less likely because the fact is that SHEIN interacts differently with US regulatory structures bc it’s shipped directly from China, unlike the other companies you mentioned. Of course they’re evil too but there are levels to things and there’s nothing wrong with saying dropping SHEIN is harm reduction. It’s really odd that you’re going to bat so hard for a giant company that uses Uyghur concentration camp labor.
I think this person just likes stuff of SHEIN and wants to feel morally justified in it tbh. 90% sure it’s the same one person going to bat for SHEIN for no clear reason in the same aggressive tone. Ironically using the excuse that thrift stores allegedly have NO plus sized clothing lmao.
target. walmart. stores like aerie have sales all the time. if you really can’t find a shirt for under $30 on depop then you’re either lying or being way too picky. and please cut the crap with “other stores are just as bad” because shein is astronomically worse than pretty much any other company, y’all just want an excuse to buy mountains of trendy clothes every month
ok so at the end of they day it’s MY money and imma spend it however tf i want. if i stopped shopping at shein, thousands of ppl still would-which doesn’t change anything. i’d rather pay for my nice car, COLLEGE, and a house then overpay on expensive clothes. i want to look cute and still be able to afford necessities. get over it
i don’t have a target in my college town so no i cannot go to target and let’s be honest most of walmarts clothes are not cute. sorry i don’t always trust depop so yea i can’t find shirts that i like. i never said other stores are bad i just can’t afford them. i don’t buy shein every month for just trends i buy basics and things i know i will rewear from shein brands that i know are good quality. so unless you want to fund my shopping at other stores then stfu.
on top of that, these ppl don’t think about unusual circumstances. i had to buy all new clothes before going to college bc of my home life. the goodwill near me doesn’t carry much in my size, the burlington near me was too expensive, target doesn’t carry my size, and pretty much no where near me actually carries much in my size 😭 all the online plus size stores like torrid and rainbow are way too expensive. shein literally was my only option.
I’m pretty sure the majority of us are pretty aware of outlying circumstances where you’ve exhausted all possible places to look. This post calls out the craze, ie the pointless overconsumption, the need to follow the newest trend, the wardrobe overhaul. A lot of that is done mindlessly. If you *genuinely* struggle with finding clothing in your size and shein is your *only* option just shop mindfully. And be careful with what you wear too, given the findings of lead on their products.
It’s not that we don’t think about it. If it’s a last resort that’s fine! But by definition unusual circumstances don’t apply in most cases, and the fact is that generally speaking people who are buying regularly from SHEIN or overconsuming aren’t in the same situation as you and have other options.
this was under another post in response to someone who ho said something similar as you and it can be applied here as well. don’t scream critical thinking and then lack the reading comprehension to know when ur not using said skills… ur running with a narrative regardless of others perspectives which is the definition of not using critical thinking. get over yourself.
