Read the fine print on your scholarship applications. Usually you’re allowed to just lie!! My college counselor told me “there’s nothing wrong with submitting a nonfiction essay if the application doesn’t specify it has to be fiction. You can also write fiction from someone else’s perspective, about someone else’s life”

Most of my college essays where the first half abt the terrible shit that happened to me when I was a child (all true) and then the second half was a fantasy world where it made me a better and stronger person because I grew and persevered (I did not)
