I have an unpopular opinion: I feel like it’s kinda mean to pretend to forget someone’s bday all day for surprise party

Like just acknowledge my bday and don’t tell me the plans!

I totally agree. I never want someone to feel forgotten and unloved. Especially because birthdays are already such a vulnerable day for a lot of people.

Wait at first I was like huh but I actually agree because just because there’s a surprise doesn’t mean you should pretend to forget.

Same, if you’re gonna do a surprise party have it so that the person thinks there’s no plans for a party this year (like my cousin’s fiance who had a very small get together the night before with immediate relatives), or have the party a few days before the actual birthday date

I just think being forgotten and devalued is the worst feeling when you think you have people who care about you

Yes like it seems like they care more about the party than how u feel which is sad and also some ppl aren’t in party mood after
