So I’m kinda nervous. I feel like this summers semester has made me mentally ill because I’ve been isolated for so long with no car and it’s just me and my classes. I’m like hearing voices in my head giving me compliments/ criticizing me and idk if that’s

Summer classes make my mental illnesses worse tbh. They’re isolating and the amount of work that’s given to you and money required is insane. I don’t hear voices but I definitely get delusions and every time it’s time to do my schoolwork, I cry hysterically. Schedule an appointment with your psychiatrist.

normal or just because I’m lonely and I’m starved for interaction

Ya, like it’s not voices but it’s just random thoughts of commentary. I’m also very sleep deprived. It’s not a good situation

i mean if it’s in your own voice or the same voice you normally have then you might just be thinking tbh

It’s like in the voice of one guy I know specifically.

It’s just your inner thoughts. They get loud when other people aren’t around for you to express yourself. Do you have family you can call when it gets like that?

That makes sense. And yes , but very limited. I just have my grandmother.

It just gets really confusing as of lately. But that makes sense if I’ve been isolated for so long

yeah, do you have friends you could maybe facetime or something? it’s not the same but it helps a little. loneliness is really hard

Bc it gets worse. The delusions come to life. Full Requiem of a Dream stuff😬

i think this may be a leap. from what she’s described it doesn’t sound like these voices are separate from her own inner monologue. meds affect everyone differently so your experience on them doesn’t necessarily mean she’s having the same one

I’ve never had that happen and I’ve experienced this before when I was under stress. It just freaks me out bc I can’t distinguish thoughts from voices

It’s a warning.

Yeah they have an issue with Adderall rn (it’s documented on reddit, look at r/thisaintadderall) where they started putting cheap ingredients in and the quality of the med went down and now it makes people super paranoid and not act like themselves. Happened after the shortage.

This is why it may be effecting you differently than in the past as well. So I’d try to get another stim prescribed

the paranoia is a bigger warning i think. just bc it’s hard to tell if ur experiencing voices or not since we can’t hear them with you but paranoia is a big one. schedule an appt with ur psychiatrist soon

Should I discuss this with my psychiatrist? I was prescribed regular adderall. What’s different about the two meds

Well I feel like I explained that weird. I hear the voices but they sound like thoughts. They’re internalized and they don’t sound real. It’s just vivid complements and criticisms that make me feel paranoid and anxious

ohh, def entering the territory of delusions. it’s good that ur catching it early. i can tell you now its not actually the opinion of that person because you have no way of reading their mind or like having telepathy with them, but idk me saying that actually helps

It’s just me trying to figure out how to stop it. The isolation is not a help to me. And I listen to music constantly and that’s not helpful bc it disconnects me from the world if that makes sense and makes it worse

yeah, these thoughts are scary but they are not real. it’s common with certain mental illnesses for people to have delusions like that, but no one can hear your thoughts and you can’t hear anyone else’s. i think you should get in contact with your psychiatrist and tell them you need an emergency session soon and tell them everything you’re experiencing so they can help you out

Could it also just stem from severe isolation?

yeah absolutely! that can definitely trigger it. but you wanna get it checked out to prevent it from potentially worsening
