not fun fact but bagels actually were invented during ww2 because hitler was targeting jewish bakers by not allowing them to use yeast so the first bagels were made with malt powder

THANK YOU!!! finally someone talking about this!! i’ve seen absolutely zero conversations about how a lot of advocates for freeing palestine are using the situation in gaza to spread blatant antisemitic rhetoric. a lot of people are unfortunately unable to separate the israeli government from the israeli people. jewish people all over the world are terrified right now. we can support palestinians without being antisemitic.

It’s soooo rampant nowadays. I saw a podcast of young people saying maybe Hitler was right and we did something to deserve it…

That’s just not true, bagels have been around since the 1500s made by Polish Jews. Hell, there were literal bagel bakers unions in the US before WWI let alone WWII, where did you get that information?

I would suggest it’s antisemites are using the opportunity, not real advocates for freeing Palestine from colonialism (for the most part) And they’re helped by the US and Israel claiming that opposing killing children in Gaza is antisemitic, so now we have to fight propaganda from two sides

honestly i disagree. i see people who genuinely care abt palestine falling into antisemitic rhetoric all the time

Sure, as they are affected by the propaganda, but I wouldn’t call that “using” it to spread antisemitism rhetoric, I’d call them being used to spread such rhetoric

idk man all i’m saying is there are genuine advocates for palestine who are also antisemites. and i don’t think it’s fair to say they’re “being used”, we all have a responsibility to question what we’re told and fight propaganda

Yes.. I’ve been told multiple times by people that they don’t view me as a human. Or I’ve seen posts about people posting those genetic breakdown and if they have 30% for example, multiple people will say “70% human”.
