happy epilepsy awareness day!! if you know someone with epilepsy let them know you love them and are there for them 💜💜 it’s scary having it, not knowing when or if something could happen. & knowing we have support from close ones means the world

-we can live normal lives! have jobs, drive, party etc. it may just not look the same as everyone because most epileptics need meds -only 3-5% of epileptics are triggered/affected by flashing lights -PLEASE know the first aid for seizures, for some people (like me!) it’s not always a medical emergency, a google search can teach you!!

I was diagnosed at 18, I lived my whole childhood completely normally and was jarred by the diagnosis. I took two years off of school, the first 6 months after I had a seizure I couldn’t drive. It was extremely isolating and I don’t know anyone who relates to my experience. So just for my sake, you might meet someone or know someone with epilepsy. Just keep an open mind to their disorder and know how to help :))

Also, YES. SUDEP is how Cameron Boyce died, he had epilepsy and was unfortunately one of the few who die from epilepsy unexpectedly. It’s scary and it’s nice to know I have support & people looking out for me
