I saw a post say fatphobia is the only discrimination that’s normalized/acceptable, what are y’all’s thought on this?

only discrimination that’s normalized ? no discrimination is never “acceptable” but there’s many forms of discrimination that are normalized

racism, misogyny, homophobia, etc etc are literally baked into our society. how in the world would fatphobia be considered the only normalized discrimination?

There are many but it’s one of the ones where otherwise “progressive” people can be very bigoted. And it’s super normalized with very little pushback

Nah. A lot of biases are normalized. I’ve seen a huge rise in the normalization of antisemitism too

Very true! I read the comments on the original vid I saw and some people were making the argument that if someone is racist/sexist/homophobic/etc that it’s bad enough that people would hate them for it, but not hate people for fatphobia? Which idk how to feel about that argument tbh

Yeah I agree w that take! Everything is normalized and none of it should be socially acceptable but I have noticed a lot of people who are against other forms of discrimination turn the other way when it comes to plus sized people
