TW: mentions of rape and sexual assault When I was 6 years old I had this friend who I was close with. I was a quiet kid so I found making friends a little hard. She was either 12 or 13 I don’t remember exactly she was verrry dear to me. Cont in comments

So much so that when she moved away I kind of withdrew from my fam and was very distant over all. My parents still tease me abt in and to them I guess it was just another friendship breakup. What they dont realize is what was really going on at the time. The friend, who I’ll call S, was very manipulative and was good at getting what she wants. She’d tell me that in order for me to be her friend that I needed to play this game with her.

What is basically was is she’d straddle me while I’d be laying down and I’d play some stupid mobile game on her iPad while she fingered me. Or sometimes she’d make us switch. Ofc at the time I didn’t know any better and was convinced that this was completely normal and didn’t tell a souls because she warned me not to. Years later I am still heavily disturbed and I’m wondering if this constitutes as rape or not.

I’m conflicted because I want to say that any 12-13 year old would know better but a part of me just can’t shake the feeling that it was somehow my fault. I know it isn’t and it’s irrational to say so but sometimes I just ask myself these srupid questions like why couldn’t I have told her to stop or not be her friend. It’s really fuking with me and I haven’t told a soul because I don’t think anyone would believe me.

children are incapable of consenting. it was rape. or at least a sexual crime in the eyes of the law. some states rule that rape is only intercourse, which makes a female rapist much harder to incarcerate sadly. im sorry this happened to you and i hope you find the support and therapy you need

Officially that’s called COCSA, or child on child sexual assault. I’m so sorry that happened to you. And like other people mentioned it is very much a crime but very difficult to prosecute. It’s definitely not your fault though, while it’s likely that she was also being SA’d at home she still had no right to do that to you.
