Toxic shock syndrome was most prevalent (and wasn’t even identified until AFTER super plus tampons came out, because some women were leaving them in for days/ using too big of tampon for their flow); you’ll probably be fine. 8 hours recommended but if you are an hour or two over, don’t immediately freak out— especially if you aren’t experiencing symptoms of TSS

Just breathe it will feel a bit uncomfortable most likely but you’ve got it!

Squat or put one leg up on the bathtub when you’re inserting and if you can feel it it’s not in deep enough, don’t sleep with them in (use pads), and you should be good!! You probably won’t get it right the first time but trust me you’re gonna feel so much nicer, cleaner, and more comfortable when you get the hang of using them!

Idk if this will make you feel better but my friend once forgot she had a tampon in and put a second one in and just had one in there for days before realizing😭 If she didn’t get TSS I promise you will be fine if you change it in under 8 hrs. It’s only an issue if you leave it in for too long

Sleeping with them in is kinda complicated depending on how long you sleep. If you change it right before going to bed and sleep 8 hours you should be okay depending on the flow. Have a pad with the tampon at night if you do bleed a little heavy. Also I cannot stress this enough, during the day do not where them more than 6-8 hours, 8 is even pushing it. Never feel embarrassed my love, we all learn every single day 🫶🏻🫶🏻

It’s better not to if you sleep for longer than 8 hours but sometimes I get up in the middle of the night anyway so I change it so it’s ok for me

Make sure you wear one size up then what you would typically wear if you are going to the beach because water will absorb and try and make sure the string is either tucked in your labia some so it doesn’t stick out of your bathing suit. I know from experience how badly it sucks when your tampon absorbs a lot of water because of not wearing the right size.

I even recommend tucking the string just barely inside your actual vagina (if you can sweep a finger inside your vagina when empty and feel nubby bit, that’s your cervix/entrance to uterus. you won’t lose a tampon in there)
