“gender affirming care is for everyone” yeah but how much of that “gender” conformity comes from society telling us what men and women HAVE to look like? i’m sorry but no you do not need breast implants as a cis woman or a “feminine” nose. propaganda!!!!

What point are you trying to make? 2 things can be true at once…gender affirming care is for everyone, and our attitude towards gender expression is heavily influenced (if not completely created) by societal expectations

when certain politicians make the argument that “gender affirming care is for everyone” they’re mainly trying to make the point that gender affirming care for transgender people isn’t some other-worldly thing. that a trans woman getting breast implants really isn’t that different than a cis woman getting them. does the idea that big boobs equate to femininity inherently patriarchal? sure, maybe. doesn’t change the fact that it affirms someone’s gender.

when i hear people say that gender-affirming care is for everyone, i assume they mean like hormones and stuff. my mom and gf are on very similar estrogen prescriptions but my mom’s is for menopause and my gf’s is because she’s trans
