Long story short trust is gone and me n bf keep having huge arguments where we almost break up. Something switched in me for the last one, I’m pretty certain we need to break up but he wants to do a trial separation for a few weeks. What should I do?

We had plans in a few weeks for something that would’ve meant a lot to me in general (and was pretty expensive). Obvi if we break up we don’t go anymore. But part of me wants to do the trial separation so that we can still go to the event in a few weeks. Idk if that’s dumb. I just want that one meaningful experience with him before we break up. How do I decide what to do?

couples that go on ‘breaks’ never get back together. don’t stretch it out tbh. just break up. you should not be fighting with your partner, especially to the point where you want to break up each time.

and going on a trip together after a ‘break’ is meaningless, it’ll be hella awkward because you both know that this trip is the only thing keeping yall together. just break up girl

But not really a break either. What he wants to do is take some time physically apart (we live together) to work on our own shit or something… the event isn’t a trip, it’s something I have looked forward to for our entire relationship (1.75 years basically) though. I guess I’d take it as time to solidify my decision, I’d get to do something with him that I looked forward to for a long time and will never get to do again, and then we can say goodbye. But idk.

He’s not bad company all the time. It just isn’t a healthy relationship.
