perhaps a childhood where you couldn’t express your needs without getting shamed/punished/belittled. or just general anxiety

Not that. I didn’t have many emotions, very calm but as I get older I’m having more/being more outspoken

maybe societal pressure then to just keep the peace. honestly american culture is not very confrontational

Yeah maybe lol. Like this being upfront is just me saying how I feel after I felt I have been done wrong. Lowkey I feel as if ppl see me as a doll, so when I do something they don’t expect of me they’re surprised

yeah, it’s def a muscle to practice but the anxiety fades with time! i’d recommend doing it in person/through a phone call so there will be less misunderstandings and tone can be read

Yea in other area of my life I’ve done things even if I was nervous. My resolution was to be more “confrontational” ! I kinda prefer texts so I can thinking about what to say and process what they say lol

yeah i def get preferring texts! in my experience though, texting makes everything worse, especially if people are already upset. in person is the best way to resolve conflict every time, but how detrimental texting will be also depends on what the issue is

Yeah. We can talk about it in person but I can’t even get them to respond 😭 my issue is I sent a text and no one responded or reached out and it’s almost been a month. So a call wouldn’t do anything anyways

oh yikes. i think before you even send a text about the issue, you could ask if they have time to talk about something important about your friendship. if they don’t respond then, they’re not your friends. but you can also tell them through text, it just might make them more defensive if it comes out of nowhere in their eyes

Maybe. But also people know what they are doing. Like you can communicate if you can’t or respond and it’s fine bc you told me. If you want I can dm you some of the stuff I was gonna say to them. I’m just an overthinker lol
