it’s so awkward being older in college. “what year are you?” “i’m a sophomore” “oh so you’re like 19?” “no im 21” “oh.” LIKE SORRY IM SLIGHTLY OLDER ?? idk

I hate this way of thinking so much. Not everyone is able to go to college fresh out of high school, and you never know the struggles someone may have gone through just to get here. We are all here to learn, so what does it matter how old we are when we start?

27 year old senior right here. I didn’t realize it was odd/awkward of me to talk to other students

i feel like the ppl who think it’s weird to befriend a 21yr old college sophomore have never held a part time job. i’m over here chatting it up with cindy, 54, married with 3 kids while they feel awkward holding a convo with a 21yr old as a 19yr old.

I am turning 21 in the fall of my junior year, the same semester that my partner is turning 20 and my best friend is turning 22. We are all in the same year of school. It isnt that deep lol people think too much of this stuff

I graduated at 24 and it was so awkward when people would ask me about my age I felt awful about it for a while because everyone else in my graduating class was 2-3 years younger than me but then I remember all the struggles I went through that set me back and celebrate the fact that I finished at all

Life is different for everyone, I’m a bit behind in school but guess what, I had custody of my brother my freshman year. Some of the same people that shame me can’t take care of themselves much less another person

i’m 21 soon to be 22 and going into grad school and everyone either treats me like i’m way older than I am (I don’t have that life experience yet babes) or like i’m somehow a pretentious asshole for getting there “so soon” when all my peers are like.. 24 (literally this is just the way my schedule worked out between transfer credits and needing to take summer classes 💔)

i’m the oppositeee, when everyone asks how old i am and i say 17, i have to immediately follow it by “no no but i’m in college dw”
