Misogyny and homophobia can overlap but they’re not the same thing, and you don’t need misogyny to explain why homophobia exists. Homophobia specifically targets sexual orientation, not women. There are both gay and lesbian couples. Once again a belief does not correlate to hate. I can be best friends with a lesbian girl even if I’m religious. How is that homophobia? And if ur anti religious, why worry about burning in eternal hellfire?
Yes they are considered sin/haram, but that does not mean that they are told to be homophobic. Homophobia is when you expressively hate or discriminate against homosexual people. It is taught in these religions to be kind and respectful to everyone, regardless of their religion, sexuality, identity, etc.
You and OP are both half right. You’re right that religion itself isn’t homophobic and it’s the followers that are BUT it’s because they’ve been intentionally misled by corrupt people in power who are using religion against them for their own gain (see: the intentional mistranslation of scripture changing a verse about pedophilia and the sexual slavery of young boys into a verse about homosexuality)
And OP is right that homophobia is rooted in the patriarchy and gender roles, not necessarily misogyny but close, due to the fact that it’s seen as putting women in men’s roles and vice versa and that it’s inherently an issue for women to like women and men to like men due to the fact that it’s less “feminine” to be attracted to women and less “masculine” to be attracted to men
Unless you’re the Greeks who are the reason for the original passage about man not sleep with man because they would literally rape young boys to “turn them into men” and that’s why the Bible says not to do that and over hundreds of years and even more translations people now think it’s about gay sex not rape
