Yall I’m getting married and we originally planned on hyphenating our names which I still love and want to do, but should I leave my legal name and go by the new one? I’m just scared of all the SAVE act stuff going on and I love being able to vote.

i would not mess with legal name stuff at all. you can go by the hyphenated name socially/on unofficial forms but taking a risk like thing is just unnecessary stress

I think u can leave it and go by a different one. I think it’s literally just jobs that it might cause slight confusion but really no issues. I’ve been going by a diff first name n have encountered virtually no problems

I changed my name and I’m just waiting a hot second to register to vote so I don’t have to do it twice

Yeah you shouldn’t change you name right now! You can always change it later on and make sure to have the money saved at that time to get your name changed on other forms and documents as well!
