21 and 28 meets the half +7 rule which is my general rule of thumb but it still feels a bit weird

21 & 28 is fine to me

that rule is stupid, and a senior in undergrad has almost nothing in common with someone who’s almost 30

Not everyone who’s 21 is going to university…

Yall really mythologize older people. I’m 23 and have a ton of friends in their late 20’s/early 30’s. They’re not that different from us lmfao

i’m 30, and if someone suggested dating someone who was 21 to me when i was 28, i would probably have been physically ill

no offense to 21 year-olds obviously but your brain finishes developing around 25

dating someone whose prefrontal cortex (decision-making center of the brain) has not finished cooking yet when yours has is inherently taking advantage of them, because they are measurably less capable of consenting to the relationship than you are.

Starting to think some of yall don’t realize some people don’t have the same exact experience as you. It’s like talking to a toddler sometimes

The changes are so slight from ages 21 to 25 that it doesn’t really matter lmao. The biggest changes happen in adolescence. Plus girls develop faster, usually in the early 20’s

sounds exactly like what someone would say if their brain wasn’t developed enough to fully understand when they’re in a dangerous situation
