When I started living in my single in college one thing that helped was finding one thing a day to look forward to. It could be anything. For me I was doing like a selfcare night, baking, going shopping, buying room decor, or watching a show and painting my nails

Obviously don’t get an animal on impulse but after my first month of living alone I really needed companionship especially since I had always grown up with animals so I adopted my cat after becoming obsessed with her shelter picture and I spent a week ruminating over her before I got her and she made living alone so much better and three years later she is still one of my favorite parts of coming home

I think another that helped was just appreciating I was probably one of the first if only women in my family to live independent without a man or a kid. I had a level of freedom they never got to enjoy.
