this. my dog is well over 200lbs but he’s an english mastiff. we had a lab and he was only 80lbs. people thought he was too underweight bc he wasn’t overweight 😭

Yep. I understand if your pet has a condition that makes them overweight, otherwise you should try to make sure they’re as healthy as possible

I 100% get what you’re saying like I have two dogs, but over feeding your pets is dangerous for them and causes health issues

Maybe we are the extreme left

As someone who works at a dog boarding place, it's so sad to see so many dogs overweight. Like do they really not understand that they're shortening their pets life?

oh my god I hated this so much. I had a belgian malinois that was pure muscle and I had soooo many people tell me I “wasn’t feeding him enough” 😒

AnonymousOP12w
literally. all of my dog have been a perfect weight and within the breed standard and that freaks ppl out for some reason 😭

Anonymous#412w
yes! i have two very lean shepskies and people ask us all the time if they’re “okay” because they’re naturally lean. like ofc my extremely athletic dogs aren’t going to be chunky

Anonymous12w
80 is within breed standard! over 100 is not and those pets are obese

AnonymousOP12w

rip rip

Even then, there's no reason for them to be obese. A little overweight sure, but too many people justify themselves not taking proper care of their pet bc they have a health issue
9
Anonymous12w
correct. but a pet being obese is not good… because that’s all fat.

we aren’t overfeeding him, neither of them get snacks outside of the meals. he quite literally eats everything in the bowl regularly
