 right so i’m starting teaching tenth grade english this month and more than anything i want to help my students fall in love with reading, so is this a cheesy idea: each friday i read the first chapter from a different book each week?

I love that idea! Make sure you can lend a copy or your library has copies easily available to make it as easy as possible

And if you have students who you know are already avid readers, maybe give them a chance to kind of nerd out and give a synopsis of a book or series they’ve read too

maybe like an extra credit? like if you write a synopsis of one of the books i preview you get x amount of points? like one or two a quarter?
