It’s always been a thing, but the economy and access to proper mental health resources are both declining (plus the worsening mental health caused by the political and economic conditions of the US) do not help. I don’t know if it’s actually worse than it used to be but this would be why

that was my thinking. i used to be rlly interested in true crime before i started feeling weird about it. so i know its been a thing, john list is the one who always creeped me out most. but it just feels more and more common. and i understand the crimes were earlier and theyve just gone to trial but even still. its like back to back to back coverage
