my friend asked me to be her plus one at her friend’s wedding. the problem is that idk the bride & groom. i just don’t wanna spend a bunch of time & money at a wedding where idk anyone expect my friend. should i just go anyways or no?
Why would you have to spend a bunch of money? You don’t have to go but it could be an enjoyable way to spend your time

The last wedding I went to I spent no more than $70 on a dress from Amazon and I had an absolute blast. Plus now I have a nice dress I can wear to almost any other wedding or formal event

y’all go to weddings empty handed?

Your friend should get a gift, but you don’t have to

so it wouldn’t be rude if i showed up with no gift?

I only bring a gift if I know the bride and/or groom. I think it would be pretty expected for an unrelated plus one guest to show up without anything

that’s fair. i was just raised to never show up anywhere empty handed but that makes sense

Generally yes but if you’re going as part of a group only one gift is expected
