It doesn’t count for purposes of establishing citizenship when applying for like an ID or passport

Ok but I was more talking about establishing citizenship for not getting arrested by ICE but it appears ICE has so little access to documents like that they shouldn’t be arresting people in the first place

Yeah I quoted the ICE defender because they’re trying to say that ICE will arrest you unless you have a passport and that birth certificates don’t count as proof of citizenship

Turns out what she really meant was ICE doesn’t have access to birth certificates which to me means they shouldn’t be arresting people in the first place
