Would you pay $1800 a month for an apartment in a safe (but boring) location but with great amenities and no roommates?

1 bed 1 bath ~1000 SF so not huge but we don’t need much space (my bf and I). Literally just built a couple years ago so it’s brand new. In unit washer and dryer, granite countertops, like suuuuuper nice inside, and a balcony. They have a gym, commons area with a bar and pool tables, SUPER FANCY outdoor pool, pickleball and volleyball courts, grills and seating and fire pits everywhere, super well maintained, literally looks like a timeshare resort.

But like it’s in a new development in the middle of nowhere, like in the middle of a field you see this huge neighborhood of cookie cutter rental houses (part of the same complex as the apartments) and then behind that is the apartment complex and then a forest and lakes. It’s like 30 minutes to work for both my bf and I, as well as 20+ minutes to get to anything fun.

If yall like the isolation then go for it. I had a 32 minute commute to work for a while and it was absolutely horrid, I put soooo many miles on my car and had to wake up that much earlier to get there on time. Personally I think 1800 for a 1b1ba is ridiculous, even with all those amenities. But if yall are splitting bills and think you will utilize the amenities enough that it’s worth it, then that will (hypothetically) save you money on other recreation. Also, new developments kinda suck.

As someone who lives in a new development (3bed 2.5ba 3 story townhouse— I live with my sister and her husband, we pay $2200 for rent utilities HOA, etc for reference), they’re quickly built so there isn’t as much care or concern put into the facilities. Like our basement isn’t even finished, and we have some janky random issues that SHOULD have been fixed (like the AC to my room barely works, ceiling fans are wonky as hell) before the units were put on the market. But tbh it comes down to what+
