I’m not looking to start an argument of pads vs tampons, but did anyone else grow up hearing other girls in school judge tampon users harshly?

honestly I think it was just middle school girls being mean, it was never about which menstrual product someone used, they'd just judge whoever used the opposite of them

Not doubting that it happens but in my experience I've only heard negative judgement against pad users. Ppl said that using pads is immature/dirty/smelly/it's basically a diaper/etc. Pad users would say that using tampons is painful & pads are better

I would hear a lot of girls who used exclusively pads say that they hated being judged for using pads and then start saying how much better pads were overall, but the only people I ever heard say mean comments about people based on their menstrual products were pad users judging tampon users. It almost felt like purity culture bullsh*t

my old friends (tampon users) from freshman year of highschool used to say that if you couldn’t use a tampon you’re unable to take dick so

See and this was the exact opposite at my school. I was outcast and called gross for wearing pads. It got to the point of where I just said I don’t have the anatomy for tampons to get ppl off my back. Still didn’t work

It sucked cause I actually started to almost immediately use tampons when I started my periods and then I would go to school and hear my classmates say that it was the worse option and that tampon users were judgy, but I don’t think anyone I know who used tampons said anything bad against pads except saying they didn’t like using them because they were often thick to the point they would be visible when they were wearing them
