Bro. You’re supposed to eat three meals. Sorry you have an eating disorder but don’t try to push that on other girls

Oh you mean the standard and RECOMMENDED breakfast, lunch, and dinner? Yeha let’s pretend that’s unhealthy and makes you fat. Keep your eating disorder to yourself

So anyways I’m a recovering anorexic and my resolution this school year was deadass to eat 3 meals a day lmao. Like if you’re genuinely not hungry eat what your body needs but let’s not post on the internet that eating three meals in a day makes you fat.

There is no ideal with meals. 5 meals a day is just absurd for some of us and it’s equally unhealthy to use some sort of “should” here as it is to say you should have less than 3

I wanted to update that i looked into this and was wrong, the 5 meals myth has been disproven unless you have digestive issues. The generally accepted standard is still 3 Meals tho. What matters the most is getting enough macros and calories and spacing out your meals enough to process it all. If u need more structure, look into 333 rule.

do you know a girl who hasn't experienced disordered eating? I don't. but I don't think this post is specific to eds my adhd meds supress my appetite which makes me feel like this post when I eat a normal amount of food which is completely unrelated to my psychological eating issues I experienced as a child. like geuninly why are you being judgmental. sm ppl can relate to this weather they experience disordered eating or not

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #30 7h

I think it’s because it’s taboo to admit that we relate to this. I also do, but if we start admitting that, then ED-like thinking starts looking “normal” and “common”… and that’s not a good message to send

upvote 8 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #27 7h

Your comment is an inside thought. A person who has a disease that’s taking over them isn’t anything close to normalizing what they are dealing with. People who suffer from this deathly disease do not understand what is going on and they don’t mean to cause anyone pain as they are going through pain themselves. Maybe a “My dms are open, I hope your ok” would have been wayyyyyy so much better. Ed are the second deadliest death in the U.S.

yall are the ones proving the bean soup theory prescribing a certain way of eating to others and assuming someone's disordered because they don't have a big appetite

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #24 7h

I’m quite aware of their mortality statistics. I have had one for 8 years. People with eating disorders are usually quite aware of the difference btw their behaviors and the norm. They also often get competitive/seek validation by flaunting behaviors (thinness, exercise, undereating, etc.) The disease is absolutely no excuse to potentially trigger others and lead them down the same path.

i am actually in recovery, i had ednos/exercise bulimia when i was younger. eating less than i used to so i dont feel the need to overcompensate with exercise or exercise to get rid of uncomfortable fullness is a part of my recovery. it was never about my weight or how much i was eating, ive been a healthy weight the whole time. it was about my mind being sick

upvote 0 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #24 6h

which is why all these people's comments are annoying me, you don't know anyone else's body only your own. eating less than 3 meals a day and feeling uncomfortable if you eat three meals a day isn't automatically disordered eating, the same way not everyone who struggles with an ed eats very little.
