Anxiety does horrible things to the body☹️ thought I was chronically ill for two years because I couldn’t stop needing to use the bathroom and I felt nauseous all the time. Turns out it was anxiety

Yes absolutely. I couldn’t go a day without feeling miserable. I mean feverish, chills, body aches, needing to poop like 4+ times a day, severe dizziness and nausea, fatigue, late periods, etc. Now I am on anxiety meds and I don’t feel that at all. It physically made me sick. Most of our body’s serotonin is actually made in the gut which is why it was making me have lots of GI symptoms

Hey, and don’t be alarmed. Anxiety can be tough to deal with but taking the first few steps into treating it makes a world of difference. I highly encourage you to get it seen about. A general practitioner can probably start a low dose of Lexapro or Prozac or something just to see what effect it has IF yall agree to try that.

In high school, I used to be unable to breathe because my heart was beating out of my chest and I was so anxious. It genuinely feels like someone is sitting on your chest sometimes

Getting on meds isn’t scary, I promise. Sometimes the meds make things worse instead of helping but dealing with that is fairly easy. Medication is normal for so many people and the right medication and dosage should make you feel so much better. I encourage you to try it if therapy doesn’t help. Relief is so much better than being miserable all the time. Medication also isn’t a forever commitment! Whatever you decide, it is completely up to you!
