So I'm 19 and have had an iud for over two years now. Recently I've been struggling with bv and for the past two months, after not getting them for 2 years, I am having a period and symptoms. I've been thinking about getting my IUD removed. Cont comments

I've been thinking about getting my IUD removed because its not been doing what it needs to do. I want to find a more permanent solution to stopping my periods altogether. I already know i don't want children but insurance and doctors won't provide a hysterectomy for someone my age. Does anyone have any suggestions. I've been looking up endometrial ablation but im not sure if that's something I want

have you looked at the r/childfree subreddit? it has an entire list of doctors by state who would most likely get you what you want! i found one in a SUPER conservative state who surgically sterilized me

I've checked it but I know a hysterectomy would cost so much and then I'd get backlash from my family for getting one so young

If you get a hysterectomy, hypothetically would your family have to know?

I mean, I don't know what the recovery is so that would be my only concern but I was just gonna have my bsf go with me
