Honestly some women have to stop hating on men just because they’re men

Reasons: - Loved ones passing away - They have trouble walking/bussing/driving to community/friends/family - Social interactions are harder because they’re hard of hearing and aren’t as funny as they used to be and have trouble and have trouble understanding conversation - they’re no longer part of the workforce - often live alone or move in to senior housing far from friends and family

My dad doesn’t have friends bc they all end up being draw or rude or flake. He’s the nicest chillest person I know. Sometimes you get unlucky in life and never find your besties. He’s got a great wife tho.

Eeeeh, idk chief. I’m not gonna assume a lonely old man is a lonely old man because they are a bad person like the post implies. It’s not feminist or empowering to think like this, it’s pathetic

my dad’s lonely and it makes me sad because his ā€œvalid reasonā€ is just that he’s socially awkward (and I’m 99% sure he has autism). it makes me so sad :(

Fr, I would feel miserable if I thought like this 24/7. Just finding ways to hate men šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

yeah I have no idea how this post is meant to call out anything patriarchal or how it’s meant to help women stay safe. it’s just needlessly rude 😭

I like to think they know their own dads better than a internet stranger making assumptions

There was a lonely old man who used to live at the senior care facility I worked at. Sweetest person I ever met, I’d talk to him during my shifts, he was lonely though. His wife passed, he had dementia, and his kids just dumped him there and seldom visited. One day he seemed really excited, was old dressed up and he told me his son was going to pick him up and take him to a restaurant for his birthday. Only his son never showed up. He spent hours waiting in the lobby.

I eventually left that place, I was in high school when I had the job and was moving on to bigger and better things. I still think about that old man. He may not still be around but he had a impact on my life even if he wasn’t all there some of the time

Yes exactly! A close friend of mine is a lot closer to her dad than her biological mom. It’s mostly been him who has raised her. Her dad was also with her when she got her first period and helped her, and then she went home and her mom made her cry. Her dad as always been there for her and she’s able to be open to him about everything. Oh and her parents got a divorce, and she went to stay with her dad, who later remarried, and she only visits her biological mom a few times a year.

i know a lot about people as a whole, and families as a whole. I don’t need to know you specifically in order to form an opinion on why a LOT OF PEOPLE think their dads are great. If everyone who THINKS they had a great person as a dad ACTUALLY had a great person as a dad there would be far fewer problems concerning our current state in America

You can’t make a generalization

You’re going to swear by your parents no matter what (until there’s a breaking point) because instinctually people love their parents unconditionally. What is the phrase— pink tinted glasses— or something? Love, especially parental love, blinds people to their parents actual personal morals and values by the same way that it blinds people from their horrible S/O’s. Except parental love is INSTINCTUAL and therefore naturally much stronger, and more tinted

…this is why you have no friends, your incredibly judgmental towards hypothetical people you have never even met. Also, your whole thing about parental love blinding people is bs. Maybe as children yeah but as we get older most people start to see their parents as flawed people myself included. Msybe the problem with the state of America is less someone dad and moreso has to do with people like you acting like an asshole online and doubling down. You’re projecting and it’s embarrassing
