I googled it and basically my understanding is that Iran was making nuclear weapons in a way that the international community disagrees with (doing it in secret, making too many, making them too powerful) but the International Atomic Energy Agency is similar to the UN where it’ll say you’re being a bad guy but either won’t or can’t actually punish you outside of economic sanctions, which Iran has already been facing for years. Iran and Israel have also fought in the past

It’s two instigators going at each other, both are terrible countries in the region when it comes to geopolitics. Israel is actively involved in genocide, and Iran has been complacent in the displacement and murder of tons of Syrians. There was never “kumbaya.” Just cause you haven’t heard anything doesn’t mean things aren’t happening

The best analogy I can think of is if your high school enemy who y’all have both wronged each other, if they started bringing a knife to school and the principal was like “you’re not allowed to do that!! I can’t/wont suspend you or take it away but please stop or I’ll give you a B instead of an A”… meanwhile the kid is a B student already… but then you just decide to go ahead and stab them just in case

Like it’s a valid cause for suspicion and an eyebrow raise but ur enemy hasn’t actually lunged at you with the knife so you’re now the perpetrator. We can argue all day abt why the kid had the knife and if he should’ve been allowed to have the knife, but the kid hadn’t indicated that he was going to use it on you so you’re the problem (even if yall when fist fought in the past)
