I think it’s one of those things where people outside of the community want to change the word because it has “negative connotations” when people inside the community either don’t care or prefer the initial word, like “differently abled” vs “disabled”. At least that’s what I think the debates about
Homeless has more weight to it as well. Home implies more than just a house. It’s also somewhere you can feel completely safe and have loved ones. If you’re without a home it’s much worse than just being without a house to me, if that makes sense. It’s a rough experience we should take seriously
