GENUINE QUESTION: Is sex work not the most anti feminist thing a woman can do? Like, is it not enforcing the narrative that a women’s value is diminished to how much she can pleasure a man?

Sex workers have as much value as anyone else because they're humans. Sex work is just their job what does that have to do with their value.

No job you take reduces me to the value of that job. I could be the literal president and I’d still be more than just the president

⚠️ The reason for this post is not to diminish sex work at all. I have been seeing a lot of posts on socials recently about how sex work is modern feminism. THAT is what I disagree with. I believe sex work is still work. I am genuinely curious about how people view this topic and wanted to hear opinions on it

Modern feminism is removing one’s self as the accessory to man. Sex work doesn’t diminish that infact puts power over that as man is accessory to women. It is genuinely part of total economy as much as illegal cash drug trades which are a huge portion

Idk I think you could argue it’s empowering if she’s doing it on her terms and getting paid.

Okay yes. Value was the wrong word to use(let me rephrase). Is sex work not just a woman benefiting off of the patriarchy? How is that feminism?

Yes absolutely 🙌 Sex workers are not deserving any disrespect or violence. I phrased the question poorly 💔

How does it place the man as the accessory? From my perspective, to get the biggest check in sex work, the woman should appeal to the man as much as she is willing/comfortable with. Does that not keep the patriarchal system of men having more authority?
