in the like 2-second span of having your photo taken and then literally not seeing them the rest of the night, it is absolutely reasonable that someone could have either not seen the swastika, or not processed what it was in that extremely short amount of time and just seen it as a red blob. obviously plenty of people must have noticed and should have thrown him out. but someone who saw him for a seconds-long photo op and might have only barely glanced in his direction, it’s possible to miss.
