I followed the ‘AskMen’ Subreddit on Reddit and its amazing how many men view themselves as the victim on there. Like, I started seeing them complain about how the me too movement ‘turned into a witch hunt’ 🙃

I don’t have a problem with men being on Reddit, I actually think its great to build communities where men can speak about their feelings. I have an issue about how a lot of the posts frame women as the reason for their distress instead of looking at how society has put pressure on them. (Example: being upset that women are ‘allowed to be more vulnerable’ and resenting them for it instead of looking at how the societal patriarchy has made men feel scared to express their emotions)

Men aren't villains just for being men. Its like what bell hooks says; treating all men like they're the enemy just leads to more men being radicalized into alt-right and incel groups because they feel attacked in feminist communities that treat them as other and inherently evil

bell hooks w fr. it’s not necessarily comparable to all the struggles of woman through centuries (bc that’s what so many people bring up if you mention men’s issues) but the fact is that if we keep telling men, especially straight men/white men, that they’re evil and should hate themselves for just the way they were born, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that they’re becoming more radical
