No, but I think the declining birth rates are good at this point in time. We obviously don’t want a net zero birth rate, but we also shouldn’t have a massive baby boom either. I’d say just don’t be planning on a baby for at least a few years, or until trumps out of office, because I’d just hate for that baby to end up in a war zone if shit hits the fan. Hopefully it won’t, but it’s a tough line to ride.

we do have a declining birth rate right now. we’re definitely not getting a baby boom any time soon. i just don’t think a baby born now or a baby born in five years is gonna be any different

Thank you for understanding what I’m saying, I’m just now coming back to this a day later and seeing all the hate lol I definitely could have been less vague and explained better but yes my view is that it’s just kind of inconsiderate to the baby because they will in fact have to grow up in a world where their parents will most likely live paycheck to paycheck, could be relentlessly persecuted for their identity, etc etc it’s the political and economic climate that makes it irresponsible. One thing to get pregnant on accident and not want to have an abortion because I 100% respect that and the right to choose but it’s another thing to look at the world right now and think “hmm I think this is a great time to have a baby”

Not everybody lives paycheck to paycheck nor does everybody live in places where the quality of life would be what you’re describing. Maybe it’s not the right choice in your situation but it makes no sense to say it’s selfish and irresponsible for everybody

Personally, I just think that with the way the news is, and the insane tensions geopolitically, and our current administration, something serious could happen. And so it’s just very tough because we don’t know where everything is headed right now. To me, it’s extremely alarming, and that’s kind of where I’m coming from.

Geopolitical tension and unexpected circumstances are nothing new. That doesn’t make it “tone deaf” to have children. It’s fine if you don’t think it’s the right choice for you but projecting your own feelings onto everyone else is whack
