Oh goodness, yes please tell them and let them know you want an active diagnosis (doctors don’t like actually testing women for endo or other issues normally. The test for endo is invasive so they typically try ruling it out first so they might do a blood draw and a pelvic ultrasound to make sure you don’t have cysts)
The only reason I actually got tested (the test is a laparoscopy btw, two small incisions) is because I demanded it from my doctor after everything else was ruled out and 4 doctors had mentioned it in passing. Like my dr kept saying that it wasn’t worth it to get tested and I just said screw that and got it anyway. So with the official diagnosis I can receive actual treatment by insurance and what not.
Sounds about right. Coming into the drs with a notepad with a list of your symptoms and how it directly inhibits your life is a good idea AND let them know if they want to turn you down for testing, that you would like to know why and for them to note down in your medical records that they are refusing to test for anything, also that you would like a referral to an OBGYN or a separate doctor who would be willing to run the tests.
