Sometimes I feel like migraines should be considered a disability at times

pharmacy technician here! sumatriptan is definitely helpful for a lot of people so i have hope it’ll work for you too!!! just make sure you don’t use it too often because it can cause rebound headaches-if you have to use it super often it’s worth talking to your doctor about alternatives

i have beef with sumatriptan. ubrelvy is the only thing that’s helped me but u gotta try all the others before insurance will cover it (same w nurtec)

I’ve tried a sample of it in the past and it still leaves my aura symptoms. Do you know of anything that can help with the brain fog, visual, and nausea problems?

from what i’m reading it can help with that, perhaps this time will be different or maybe if the dose is higher (100 mg is the higher dose) there’s also some really good newer medications like nurtec, and also some injectables but insurance coverage can be tricky

I’ve tried nurtec but it’s $1000 for 8 pills and my insurance won’t cover it

My school considers it one! My friend has chronic migraines and she is excused from classes whenever

They are considered a disability according to the CDC and ADA. Depending on the severity of them

The only med that work for me was an injection (and my insurance is a pain in the ass about it every year) and fioricet when one breaks through. Triptans never worked for me

The injection I take is called Ajovy. In case you haven’t tried that and you’re insurance isn’t an ass about it

My school doesn’t offer anything for migraines because the state of Tennessee but mainly Knox county doesn’t recognize migraines as a disability

i think it’s around 1k without insurance but you can get up to 16. not sure about aura but it’s one of the newer meds so i would hope so
