Hot take: Ariana is a mid actress. 1) I don’t think she’s that expressive or even believable. 2) since she’s had so much plastic surgery and also an ED she doesn’t look like a normal person. She looks like a cameo character in everything she’s in.

I agree but it’s not our place to comment on people’s alleged eating disorders, no matter how obvious it looks.

what does having an ED have to do with acting ability

Girl WHAT. I can SEE her sternum! She is vegan and only eats cucumber for dinner. Maybe she doesn’t have anorexia nervosa but she has anorexia for sure. It may be a byproduct of her Orthorexia.

I grew up with AN and every time I saw some tiny little skinny thing, I was like yooo that girl has an ED too!!! I expressed concerns to a girl who I suspected and turns out she was just living with a chronic disorder. It doesn’t matter how anyone LOOKS, it’s not our place to comment. We can only express to other younger impressionable girls that it’s not a healthy place to be, but we can’t guess as to how Ariana’s body got like that

Anorexia is different than Anorexia nervosa. You can be objectively anorexic I take care of 97 year olds who are anorexic and do not have an eating disorder of their own volition. Orthorexia isn’t eating disorder where you are basically restrictive due to “health” and you only eat what you consider to be “safe” or “healthy foods.” Ariana literally is saying she is the healthiest she’s ever been and it’s objectively not true

Thank you, I’m aware of the difference. I didn’t know Ariana was touting herself as healthy or whatever, but my point still stands. Acknowledge she’s wrong but let’s not speculate. We’re not predatory gossip magazines

She is completely vegan and mostly engages in a raw diet. She mostly only drinks black coffee throughout with no sugar probably due to lack of energy and fear of even oat or almond milk. Like pls…

Gosh, she’s really unhealthy. No one around her to tell her she’s killing herself is so sad.

True I’m sorry. I guess I’m just passionate about this because I fear for the young girls who may look up to her as Glinda and think she is the epitome of health cuz of what she is saying

SpongeBob? How she even got with that man eludes me. But tbh her current diet and probably lack of nutrients does tend to equate to worse eyesight

Because some of the characters she portrays are not that thin. Glinda for example.

no reason she can’t be lol. they could’ve casted her as a curvy girl too. elphaba wasn’t black until they casted her as a black girl who says glinda has to have a certain body type?

Well, for starters anorexia has a lot more harmful to young girls self image. Secondly even the production company has an issue with it since they have literally been airbrushing her body on movie poster so that her bones are not showing. They completely blurred her sternum and armpits from the wicked movie poster.

Elphaba is literally green. They could’ve casted an Asian girl in it for all I care. As long as her skin is green. It’s the same with the little mermaid as long as the character had red hair that’s great.

regardless still has nothing to do with her acting ability i fear

also has she ever spoken out about having an ED?

I would also like to point out as a theater fan that the characters’ looks ARE important to the plot. Elphaba was going to be a minority no matter what, because her character is an allegory to the struggles of minorities. She has been historically played by Jewish actresses and, at least on the east coast, black, Asian, and Latin too. Glinda is the epitome of beauty and grace and white America, which you can clearly see in her personality. Ariana is beautiful but she does look undeniably sick

Your false equivalency means nothing to me because race and weight are two different things. Actually weight has a lot of influence on both acting and singing from energy to strength. Why do you think Christian Bale changed his weight so much for each movie role? Because it applied heavily to his character and even his lethargy in some roles.

But even if Ariana was at a healthy weight, I still think she is a mid actress who gets put in high-end roles, simply due to how popular her name is in Hollywood, I do think that her anorexia also impacts her already lacking acting ability. You claiming it doesn’t mean it’s not true.

but her singing is still strong? and weight does not directly determine any of these things like that’s an indirect criticism no matter how you slice it

Please look up Karen Carpenter. Even if her singing is still strong, it is a lot less strong than it used to be, and eventually it will get to her to where she can no longer sing at all.

i don’t think she’s ever confirmed she has an eating disorder fam why you keep saying anorexia

Has Eugenia? Only when she got out of rehab and since then she never mentioned an ED again and says she is “perfectly fine” similarly to how Ariana says she is “the healthiest she’s ever been”

I’ve already established it, but there is a difference between anorexia and anorexia and nervosa. You can objectively have anorexia. If I can see your sternum that is a clear cut sign of anorexia. Her posture is also that similarly to others who have had battles with anorexia.

but you alr called it an ED in the post 😭 and she totally could have an eating disorder but i think it’s strange to put the label on a person and i don’t think we should stigmatize bodies resulting from under-eating.

no her struggling with it isn’t the problem the problem would be her struggling and choosing to claim she’s completely healthy and like calling anyone’s appearance abnormal feels stigmatizing to me ig unless you specify abnormal for someone healthy
